Inflammation is one of the body’s main defense mechanisms. Whenever bacteria, pathogens, or viruses invade the body, inflammation acts as a defensive attack that destroys both the potentially deadly microbes as well as any infected tissue. When working properly, the process then shuts down to allow for healing to occur.
What Can Contribute to Inflammation?
Genetics/ Hypertension: Having certain genetics or high blood pressure can lead to chronic inflammation.
Smoking: Smoking of any kind, including vaping, can lead to chronic inflammation. smoking shuts down circulation and harms the body’s ability to deliver oxygen & nutrients for healing.
Poor Diet: Having a diet high in sugars and saturated fats can lead to chronic inflammation.
